What people ask before booking

Who are your clients?
Cannabis operators applying for or holding licenses, and founders starting companies. I also advise small businesses that fit neither, such as kitchens, studios and shops, on contracts and leases.
Do you represent people in court?
For some business disputes, yes. For others I’ll tell you the matter needs a litigator and help you find one. I say which at the start.
Is cannabis work legal for you to take on?
I advise on licensing and business structure under the rules that apply to licensed operators. Cannabis is still a federally controlled substance, and I explain what that means for your plans in plain words.
How much does an application cost?
It depends on the license type and how much is already in order. I quote a fixed fee after the intro call. The licensing office’s fees are separate.
Do you take equity instead of fees?
No. I’m paid for my time, so my advice stays on your side of the table.
Can we meet by video?
Yes. Most intro calls are by phone or video, and I come to the Pearl Street office or to your site when it helps to see the space.
What should I bring to the intro call?
Whatever you have: a lease, a draft agreement, an application, a text thread. If you have nothing yet, bring the plan and the date you’re working toward.
What will you do with what I send?
I read it, keep it confidential and use it only to advise you. Please wait to send sensitive details until we’ve spoken and I’ve checked for conflicts.
On the fence?
Thirty minutes by phone or video will answer most of it.
